About Piedmont Property Care
We were born from the hurricanes that changed eastern North Carolina. Founded by eastern NC residents who watched their communities rebuild from Florence, Matthew, and Floyd — and decided to make helping their neighbors rebuild what they do for a living.
Our Story: Born from NC's Hurricanes
Piedmont Property Care was founded in 2019 by a group of eastern North Carolina residents who had spent years watching their communities struggle with the aftermath of hurricane after hurricane. Hurricane Matthew (2016) and Hurricane Florence (2018) were particularly formative — watching the Neuse River swallow Goldsboro neighborhoods, the Cape Fear drown Fayetteville communities, and the entire coastal plain transform into a disaster zone was galvanizing. The need for qualified, trustworthy, locally-grounded restoration help was overwhelming — and too often, the companies responding were national franchises whose teams didn't know eastern NC's rivers, soils, building history, or communities.
We started with a single work van, two certified technicians, and a commitment to being the restoration company we wished had existed when our own community members needed help. Today, Piedmont Property Care operates across five primary markets in eastern and central NC — Goldsboro, Fayetteville, Greenville, Wilmington, and Sanford — with the full team, equipment fleet, and certifications to handle everything from a single-room pipe burst to a multi-structure hurricane recovery operation.
What Makes Us Different
The restoration industry has no shortage of companies. What distinguishes Piedmont Property Care isn't just our certifications — it's the fact that we're genuinely from here, and we care about this region in ways that a national franchise with a local phone number simply cannot.
When we restore a home in Goldsboro near the Neuse River, we know that family has likely flooded before — possibly multiple times. We understand the fatigue and frustration of repeated displacement, and we work with that emotional reality in how we communicate and how we scope our work. When we serve military families at Fort Liberty, we understand deployment cycles, PCS moves, and the particular stresses of active-duty life. When we restore a historic property in downtown Wilmington, we understand the irreplaceable value of those architectural elements and work accordingly.
Our Certifications and Standards
Every field technician at Piedmont Property Care holds current IICRC certification — the global standard-setting body for the inspection, cleaning, and restoration industry. Our team certifications include:
- Water Damage Restoration Technician (WRT): Core certification covering water damage science, psychrometrics, structural drying, and moisture measurement. All field technicians certified.
- Applied Microbial Remediation Technician (AMRT): Advanced mold remediation training covering containment, remediation protocols, and post-remediation verification. All remediation specialists certified.
- Applied Structural Drying (ASD): Advanced certification in structural drying science, covering the psychrometric principles that govern commercial drying system design.
- Fire and Smoke Restoration Technician (FSRT): Certification covering fire damage assessment, cleaning methods, odor control, and content restoration.
We are fully licensed as a general contractor in North Carolina (License #NC-XXXXXXX) and maintain comprehensive general liability insurance and workers' compensation coverage. Our vehicles and equipment are inspected and maintained on a regular schedule — because equipment failure in the middle of a job is not an option.
Our Commitment to North Carolina Communities
Beyond individual restoration projects, Piedmont Property Care is invested in the long-term resilience of eastern NC communities. We participate in storm preparedness education at community events, work with local emergency management offices to pre-register as a disaster recovery resource, and contribute to community rebuilding efforts following major storm events. After Florence, several of our team members spent personal time volunteering with disaster relief organizations alongside their professional restoration work.
We also believe in honest, transparent communication about what we can and can't do for a property. When a structure has sustained damage beyond what restoration can remediate — when it's less expensive to replace than restore — we'll tell you that directly and help you understand your options. We would rather lose a job than mislead a homeowner about the realistic outcome of restoration work on a severely compromised structure.
Our Promise to Every Customer
When you call Piedmont Property Care in the middle of the night because your basement is flooding, or because you just got home to find a burst pipe has destroyed your kitchen — we're picking up. When we say 60-minute response time, we mean it. When we give you a written estimate, the price won't change unless the scope changes — and if it does, we'll discuss it with you before proceeding. When we declare your property dry and ready, we'll back it up with the documentation to prove it to you and your insurance company.
That's not a marketing promise. That's who we are. Call us.
